Growing plants on soils under extreme conditions

The demand for crops is outgrowing its supply, and the chemical fertilizers are highly dangerous for human health, expensive and cause groundwater contamination. We have the solution to relieve part of the pressure. Our mission is:

1. maximized yield of plants with our technology

2. Reduce the use of expensive and dangerous chemicals

3. Grow food on soil that is under extreme conditions/ low fertility

4. Create innovative technologies for farmers

A partial substitute to chemical fertilizers are bio-fertilizers and biostimulants, which are numerous biological products containing living microorganisms that, when applied to seed, plant surfaces, or soil, promote the growth of plant and yield by several physiological mechanisms.

Control the amount of PGPB

Powder like formulation technology

Many of the current market available bio-products have low-performance efficiency and short shelf-life because of low-quality formulation. We are moving towards the future with the third generation of Synthetic Inoculants: dry alginate micro-bead inoculants of PGPB, which is a superior bacterial formulation.

By making the beads small enough but still capable of encapsulating a sufficient number of bacteria, it is possible to produce powder-like formulation.

Eggplant with our Technology compared to control
Tomato with our technology compared to control

Our benefits:

Superior shelf life
Easy to apply
Grow plants on degraded/salty soil
Better delivery system of the PGPB to the plant
Suitable for multi kinds of crops
Slow release of PGPB into the soil
Why were Bashan’s experiments done under extreme conditions?

Because most of the soil in the world is under extreme conditions. All the soil that is not under extreme condition is already under agriculture uses. Therefore, the soil that is under extreme conditions is the rest of the available soil that exist on earth, so if we wish to grow food on the rest of the available soils on earth, probably the soil will be degraded soil, or with salt, or under extreme radiation. This is the future and this is why it is Prof. Bashan’s choice of doing the experiments under extreme conditions. Of course it will work under normal conditions as well.
